Dill is not just for canning pickles, dill is great dried or fresh in hummus, soups, salad, salsa, and sauces. Our favorite is fresh dill sauce over grilled salmon. Dill does not grow well when transplanted, so start the seeds fresh in the garden in early summer. Sow dill seeds about ¼-inch deep and 18 inches apart in rich soil, then gently rake the seeds into the soil. Seed packets contain 15+ seeds.
